A municipality gets a profile when at least 19 figures are present. Search lists the 700 most populous profiles first. The other profiles are online and are indexed later. Municipalities below that score are listed only on the canton page. Rows with no data are left out.
Electricity comparisons use the ElCom H4 household profile. When more than one provider serves a municipality, each profile has its own range. Providers are listed cheapest first for that profile. The rank is the cheapest provider of profile H4. Canton and Swiss figures are unweighted averages. The ranking is cheapest first. Ties share a rank and are shown as =12. The median is the cantonal median.
The change from 2026 to 2027 sits on each provider, not on the range. It is green when the price falls, red when it rises, and grey “≈ unchanged” within ±0.5%. With no figure, the badge is hidden.
A neighbour page exists only for a real shared border and only when H4 prices differ by at least 5% against the cheaper price. The URL follows the FSO number, lower first. The reverse order 301-redirects here.
Health-insurance premiums apply to the BAG premium region, one page per region. “From” is the cheapest model. This is information, not a quote.
Pages exist in German, French, Italian and English. The language is in the path (/fr/, /it/, /en/). The year is in the title, not the URL. Sitemap lastmod is data_changed_at and does not move when only the rank changes.
Population, altitude and climate are on the municipality page. Density uses the whole area, lakes included. A mountain municipality has its settlement at 1,000 m or higher; that altitude is not shown as a figure. Climate figures are 1991–2020 averages from the grid. We name the reference station with the distance. When no station fits well enough, only the grid values remain. Naming MeteoSwiss is a source credit, not a recommendation.
Privacy
An email notice stores the address in lowercase, the language, the municipality slug, the page path, the version of this text, the time and a salted hash of the IP address. The IP address itself is not stored. Storage is only for sending a message when new electricity prices or premiums appear. The address counts only after the confirmation link is opened. Every message contains an unsubscribe link. Without confirmation there is no subscription.
